Hyperlipidemia is abnormal fat metabolism and coronary arteriosclerosis is a slow and gradual process of chronic inflammation of lipid in the arterial intima, the relationship between the two is close, the accumulation of lipid plaque ultimately causes coronary artery stenosis and occlusion, leading to coronary heart disease, so prevention of coronary heart disease starts from effective prevention of hyperlipidemia, how to effectively prevent hyperlipidemia needs scientific methods and knowledge.

The damage of hypercholesterolemia to the body is occult, progressive and systemic, and its immediate damage is the acceleration of systemic atherosclerosis. Because the vital organs of the whole body have to rely on blood and oxygen supply of arterial, once the artery is blocked by atherosclerotic plaque, it will lead to serious consequences. A large number of studies indicate that hypercholesterolemia is the risk factor of stroke, coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction and sudden cardiac death. The renal failure caused by arteriosclerosis is closely related to the hypercholesterolemia. In addition, hypercholesterolemia is also a major risk factor for hypertension, abnormal glucose tolerance, and diabetes.

Hyperlipidemia is one of the most common reasons of cardiovascular disease, also referred as the life style disease. With the improvement of people's living standard, large amounts of fat in food intake cause the occurrence of hyperlipidemia, and the main factor of elevated cholesterol is genetic factor. According to statistics, there is about a person suffering from familial hypercholesterolemia in every 500 people, there are often the occurrences of premature coronary heart disease; people who love meat, animal offals and greasy foods, cholesterol tends to rise; weight survey shows that people who are overweight or obese relatively have high cholesterol; people who do not love sports and work, cholesterol levels will rise; cholesterol levels in the blood will increase with age, women over 50, cholesterol levels will be higher than that of men; too much alcohol can damage the liver and myocardium, leading to hypertension, and elevated triglyceride levels; many studies show that the long time spirit press can cause high blood cholesterol. On the other hand, some people tend to eat more fatty foods to deal with stress, which is also an important factor in the rise of blood cholesterol.

Many factors can lead to hypercholesterolemia. When hypercholesterolemia occurs, we should control its development through comprehensive means, and have drug treatment based on regulating diet and improving the way of life. Limit high fat foods: reducing the intake of saturated fatty acids and cholesterol, strict select the low cholesterol foods, such as vegetables, bean products, lean meat and jellyfish, especially eat more vegetables containing much cellulose, which can reduce intestinal cholesterol absorption, avoid eating too much egg yolk, milk, cheese, seedcake, deep-fried dough sticks, fried cake, cream cake, chocolate, ice cream and other food; limit sweets: sugar can be transformed into endogenous triglycerides in the liver, increasing the concentration of plasma triglycerides, so we should limit the intake of sweets; strictly control the weight, people overweight should gradually lose weight under the guidance of the doctor, 1 to 2 kilograms per month is better. The diet principle is low fat, low sugar and enough protein. For simple hypercholesterolemia, general first choice is statin. Because it has the advantages of reliable efficacy, less side effects, less medication and so on. Statins can reduce the risk of coronary heart disease up to 30% ~ 35%, in addition, it can not only significantly reduce cholesterol and low density lipoprotein cholesterol, but also slightly elevate high density lipoprotein cholesterol and reduce triglycerides.

Improve diet structure, adjust living habits and have proper exercise. When hypercholesterolemia occurs, under the premise of that function of liver and kidney is not affected, patients should take drugs to adjust blood fat as soon as possible, which is a key step in preventing coronary heart disease (CHD). It can play a role in the prevention of coronary heart disease that having an integrated approach to control high blood cholesterol, so as to improve the standard of living, access to good health, and reduce the incidence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
